Disinformation and Hybrid Warfare Conferences in Europe 2027
Where Europe's counter-disinformation, strategic communications and hybrid-threat communities meet in 2027: the AI in Defence Summit, EU DisinfoLab, the Riga StratCom Dialogue, CyCon, the EEAS FIMI conference, and the security forums where hybrid threats sit on the agenda.
Counter-disinformation researchers, strategic communicators, cyber defenders and the policymakers who fund them each have their own conferences. This guide lists the European ones for 2027, with dates where they have been announced and the latest edition where they have not, checked in September 2026.
The AI in Defence Summit — Brussels, 1 March 2027
The Summit is a one-day, senior-only event at SQUARE Brussels Meeting Centre, Mont des Arts. Hybrid Warfare is one of its four tracks, alongside EU Sovereignty, Capital & Policy, and Autonomy & Hardware. Confirmed sessions on the track include Disinformation & Hybrid Attacks on Europe and Hybrid Attacks on Critical Infrastructure, and the plenary includes Lessons from the Battlefield on the Ukrainian frontlines. The room is defence ministries and NATO bodies, EU institutions, investors, and founders building detection, attribution and counter-influence tools, with 1,000 participants planned. Working sessions run under the Chatham House Rule, with no press.
Registration is open. General Attendance is €210 and VIP is €950, both including VAT. Personnel of NATO, EU defence bodies and national ministries of defence attend free of charge, verified from their official email. Every registration is screened by the organising team before it is confirmed; paid places are held on your card and only charged once your place is approved.

The counter-disinformation community
EU DisinfoLab Annual Conference. A conference for researchers, policymakers, journalists and civil society working on disinformation. The 2026 edition runs on 7–8 October 2026 in Vilnius, with pre-conference workshops on 6 October, and is capped at 650 participants. Attendance is open, subject to approval. 2026 prices excluding VAT: €150 early bird for civil society, academics and journalists, €280 for government and corporate participants, rising to €230 and €390 for late registration. EEAS Conference on Countering FIMI. The European External Action Service's annual conference on foreign information manipulation and interference. The fourth edition took place in Brussels on 17 March 2026 and launched the fourth FIMI Threat Report. Participants are EU institutions and Member States, G7 and NATO partners, Ukraine and partner countries, with civil society, academia and industry invited. EDMO. The European Digital Media Observatory brings together fact-checkers, researchers and regulators. Its last full annual conference was held in Brussels in May 2024; the 2026 programme consists of training modules, including one on generative AI and hybrid influence. Cambridge Disinformation Summit. An academic summit at Cambridge Judge Business School. The 2027 edition is set for 23–25 March 2027 with the theme "Incentives and Power Infrastructures". Attendance is by invitation. jbs.cam.ac.uk
Strategic communications
Riga StratCom Dialogue. Organised by the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, and described by the organisers as the largest strategic communications conference in Europe. The 2026 edition ran on 3–4 June 2026 at Hanzas Perons in Riga, with a technology marketplace for companies. A 2027 edition is planned; dates and attendance terms are not yet published. rigastratcomdialogue.org
Cyber and hybrid conflict
CyCon — International Conference on Cyber Conflict. Run by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence in Tallinn. The 2027 edition, "Unified Response", is confirmed for 25–28 May 2027, with registration opening in spring 2027. The 2026 edition drew close to 800 participants from 50 countries. Hybrid CoE, Helsinki. The European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats runs symposia and courses for its participating states, the EU and NATO rather than an open conference: the annual Hybrid Conflict Symposium, the Cyber Power Symposium, and an ESDC course on cyber in hybrid conflict held in Helsinki in October. Security forums where hybrid threats are on the agenda
Munich Security Conference. The 63rd MSC is confirmed for 12–14 February 2027 at the Bayerischer Hof and Rosewood Munich. Participation is by invitation. securityconference.org
GLOBSEC Forum, Prague. The 2026 edition ran on 21–23 May 2026 with about 1,800 participants; hybrid threats and democratic resilience are a standing theme. Open registration with invitation-only side sessions. 2027 dates not yet announced. globsec.org
Lennart Meri Conference, Tallinn. The 19th edition ran on 15–17 May 2026. Invitation-only, with a public livestream. 2027 dates not yet announced. lmc.icds.ee
The Rīga Conference. The 2026 edition runs on 10–11 September 2026 at the National History Museum of Latvia, with cybersecurity and disinformation on the programme and a livestream for those not in the room. 2027 dates not yet announced. rigaconference.lv

Detection and attribution: EU DisinfoLab and CyCon. Strategic communications: the Riga StratCom Dialogue. At the security forums, hybrid threats are one theme among many. The Summit is the one day where ministries, NATO and EU bodies, investors and founders are in the same room.
